The architecture of quiet places Houses, chapels & galleries built with light, silence and weather

Minimalist concrete living space washed in soft north light
Hjem № 9 — living hall, morning Polished concrete · pale oak · linen
Manifesto / 01

We design with what the North gives us — long light, hard weather, patient materials. Concrete that remembers its formwork. Oak that holds the afternoon. Our buildings do not perform; they wait, and they last.

A small practice — eleven people, two cities, one obsession: how a room feels at four in the afternoon, in February.

Founded in Oslo in 2011, Atelier Norr builds houses, chapels and galleries across the Nordics. We work slowly. We draw by hand first, model in card before screen, and visit every site in winter — if a place is generous in the dark months, it will be generous always.
